# πŸ“š Totum Assess, Forms & Video Library β€” User Guide

Welcome. This guide covers three Inovus Medical applications that work with the Totum platform (totum.surgery):

Application Short name in this guide Icon Development URL
Totum Video Library Video Library 🎬 dev.video-library.totumcloud.com
Totum Forms Forms πŸ“‹ dev.forms.totumcloud.com
Totum Assess Assess βœ… dev.assess.totumcloud.com

🌐 Public / production URLs have not been confirmed yet and will be added to this guide when they are available.

Totum itself is separate software β€” the wider training platform where you sign in, belong to organisations, and record activities. These three applications use your Totum account and organisation context; they are not β€œTotum” as a whole.

This guide is written for people who use these products day to day β€” surgeons, educators, peer reviewers, and programme administrators. It is not a technical or developer manual.

# πŸ”— The three applications

Assessment work spans these three applications:

Application What you use it for
🎬 Totum Video Library Browse your procedure recordings, discuss them with peers, invite collaborators, and submit videos for formal assessment
πŸ“‹ Totum Forms Build and publish the assessment frameworks (criteria, phases, steps, rating scales) that define how performance is scored
βœ… Totum Assess Complete blinded structured reviews against those frameworks, manage cases, and export programme results

In short:

  1. πŸ“‹ Educators define what good looks like in Totum Forms.
  2. 🎬 Surgeons record activities in Totum, then share and submit work from Totum Video Library.
  3. βœ… Reviewers score that work in Totum Assess, and results can return to the surgeon in Video Library (and optionally in Assess).

# 🚦 Start here by role

Choose the path that matches what you do most often:

If you are… Start with
🩺 A surgeon or trainee recording and sharing work Getting started, then Video Library. When you receive feedback, see example workflow: submit and review
✏️ An educator writing assessment criteria Getting started, then Forms. Follow publish a framework for Assess
πŸ‘οΈ A peer reviewer / assessor scoring videos Getting started, then Assess β€” quick start for reviewers
βš™οΈ A programme administrator Getting started, Assess β€” admin screens, and Roles and permissions

  1. πŸš€ Getting started β€” Sign in, app URLs, organisations, seats, and which app to open
  2. 🎬 Video Library β€” Videos, invites, discussion, and formal assessment submission
  3. πŸ“‹ Forms β€” Framework authoring, publishing, library, and org settings
  4. βœ… Assess β€” Assignments, scoring, cases, programme settings, and export
  5. πŸ” Example workflows β€” End-to-end stories across all three apps
  6. πŸ” Roles and permissions β€” Who can do what
  7. πŸ“• Glossary β€” Shared vocabulary and former product names

# πŸ’‘ How to use this guide

  • After the first mention, chapters often use short names (Video Library, Forms, Assess) for readability. They always mean the Totum-branded products above β€” not the Totum platform itself.
  • Each product chapter opens with a short Quick start, then deeper how-tos.
  • Cross-product journeys live in Example workflows.
  • If a word is unfamiliar (case, seat, GRS, blinding…), check the Glossary.
  • UI labels in this guide match what you see on screen (for example My Assignments, Submit for Assessment, Publish).

If you need technical setup, APIs, or deployment detail, those docs live with each application’s codebase β€” not in this user guide.
